In this article, I'll go through everything you'd want to know about Gonex, including what products the brand offers, what other users are saying, and the pros and cons of their products.

Gonex was created by young entrepreneurs who wanted to sell budget-friendly travel gear they felt was missing from the market. 

The brand's mission is to make hassle-free and joyful trips accessible to everyone who loves traveling. 

Founded in 2013, Gonex started with travel backpacks, packing cubes, and toiletry bags. By 2015, they were selling camping and hiking equipment as well. Finally, in 2019, Gonex packing cubes were the #1 seller in the EU and US on Amazon.

Gonex Backpacks

Of all the products Gonex offers, the backpacks, available in three sizes and several colors, are probably the most popular. 

20L Lightweight Packable Hiking Backpack

For $18.99, the 20L Hiking Backpack from Gomex can fit everything you need, ranging fro a day out to even overnight trips. It’s a great day-pack or carry-on option.

While the backpack is water-repellent, it’s not entirely waterproof. But, it's made out of an extremely lightweight material that can be folded up into a compact square so you can carry it in another bag until you need it. 

60L & 80L Waterproof Weekender Backpack

Gonex’s 60L bag at $55.99 and 80L bag for $63.99 are both waterproof, unlike the day bag. But like the day bag, these backpacks are completely collapsible for easy transport when they’re not being used. 

Plus, they can be used as a backpack or a duffle bag, depending on your preference. 

Packing Cubes

Gonex has several packing cube options to choose from. Of the brand's many products, the packing cubes have some of the best reviews, and the most color options and sizes. 

9 Piece Rip-Stop Nylon Travel Organizers Set

Available in several colors, this packing cube set is my personal favorite from Gonex. It’s certainly the best value for the money, with nine pieces going for just $48.99.

The nine pieces vary in sizes, so you can pick and choose what you need for the trip you’re going on. To top it all off, the clamshell-style opening makes it easy to get to your items in seconds. 

3 Piece Packing Cubes Set

Colorful and durable, these Gonex bags are another fan favorite from Gonex, at a steal at $23.49.  

Some users note that they're not as easy to use as the clamshell-style bags as the zippers don’t open all the way. 

But overall, as they’re one of the cheapest packing cube packs available on the market, they’re still a popular choice. 

Boho Packing Cubes

If you’re looking for a bit of style with your packing cubes, the Boho Compression pack at $43.99 is a great way to go. 

The lightweight material means the cubes won’t add much weight to your luggage, and the various sizes make it easy to organize all your clothes and accessories. 

Fitness Fun

You can find yoga gear, pickleball paddles, and baseball equipment on Gonex’s website. But the most popular fitness equipment is the home workout set.

For $169.99, Gonex has a portable home workout equipment that includes the following attachments to add to the secure base:

With this lightweight and durable equipment, you can move your home gym anywhere, anytime, and still get a full-body workout. 

Skateboards and Accessories 

Although Gonex has an entire page on its website dedicated to skateboarding, it doesn’t have many products within this category. 

Beginners Skateboard

The Gonex skateboard can hold up to 220 lbs. While it’s technically suitable for all levels, it was made with beginners in mind. 

It’s a well-made product with a decent grip and anti-shock wheels. Although compared to other skateboards, there are definitely better options out there. But at $99.99, it’s a good option for those just starting out. 

Skateboard Pads With Wrist Guards 

Complete with a storage bag, Gonex’s skate safety pack includes elbow pads, knee pads, and wrist guards for $36.99. 

According to several reviews, the pads tend to run small, but are generally well-made and will certainly keep you safe from scraps and bruises while learning how to skate. 

What People Are Saying?

When it comes to customer reviews for Gonex, there is quite a lot of different feedback. While some users are thrilled with the budget-friendly merchandise, others feel as though the quality is lacking. 

Quite a few reviews mention that customers didn’t get their items in the color or specifications they ordered. 

The customer service team also seems to be pretty disappointing, with complaints about the laggy customer service. This has become quite a problem for customers with issues with their products.

On the other hand, people have reported that Gonex backpacks last longer than expected for their low price tag, and that the zippers are durable and don’t break easily. 

Finally, it seems that the affordable price point is the biggest plus for most customers. 

Benefits and Drawbacks of Gonex

Undoubtedly, the biggest benefit of opting for Gonex products is that you don’t have to save up to do so. The products are extremely budget-friendly, especially compared to other similar products in the industry. 

I also think that the various color options offered for the backpacks and packing cubes are certainly an upside, as many other companies only selll black and gray bags. 

That being said, because of the low price point, Gonex products aren’t the best in the biz. I'd still consider their quality a benefit because, according to the reviews, they live up to their acclaimed price point. 

However, if you want to buy a bag that will last a lifetime, Gonex probably isn’t the way to go. 

One of the biggest downsides of Gonex is that their warranty is fairly lackluster. While you can return any product within 30 days of purchase for an exchange or refund, the warranty, which allows for an exchange if the product malfunctions, only lasts for one year. 

Finally, let’s not forget that according to many reviews, getting hold of the Gonex customer service team to use that warranty can be quite a challenge. 

Is Gonex Worth It?

Gonex is one of the most affordable travel gear companies on the market, so if you’re looking for products that won’t break the bank, then I'd say yes, Gonex is worth it. 

But, if you’re more of an invest-for-the-future kind of shopper, then there are companies with more durable and lasting gear that you could opt for. If you’re looking for a sturdy backpack, a company like Patagonia or Fjällräven might be a better shout.
