A statement made by the White House revealed that the Biden administration is taking steps towards requiring all foreign travelers to show proof of vaccination for entry into the U.S. Although no timeline has been given, foreign tourists wanting to come to the U.S. should plan for vaccination now.

Under current rules, non-U.S. residents who have been to China, the European Schengen area, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Brazil, South Africa and India in the past 14 days are prohibited from entering the U.S. Additionally, the AstraZeneca vaccine remains unapproved for use in the U.S. and the country does not recognize a mix of AstraZeneca and an mRNA vaccine as a full vaccination dose.
