8. Cross the Reichenbach Bridge

Built in 1842, the Reichenbach Bridge offers a stunning view of the St. Maximilian Church and German Museum. That's why the bridge is popular among local joggers, pedestrians, and cyclists.

If you are visiting Munich during the summertime, make sure to stop by the Reichenbach Kiosk and enjoy the view while having a glass of tasty German beer!

7. Enjoy yourself at the English Garden

The English Garden is the largest park in Munich and is one of the largest inner-city parks in the world. Surprisingly, it is larger in territory than Central Park in New York City! That alone makes it a place that you shouldn't miss.

Due to the size of the park, there are plenty of things to do in the English Garden. For instance, you can visit the Greek-style temple Monopteros and the Chinese Tower and watch experienced athletes surfing in the Eisbach River. In addition, you can rent a boat and go for a row on Kleinhesseloher Lake. In winter, attending the local Christmas market held at the park is a must!

6. Explore the BMW World

Any car enthusiasts here? Well, you are in luck because Munich is the location of the BMW World and BMW Museum. The BMW World building is futuristic inside and out and offers an insight into the past and future of mobility. Moreover, there is no admission fee to visit BMW World.

The BMW Museum provides its visitors with over 100 years of BMW history and will answer all of your questions about the company, brand, and products. The incredible part? The standard ticket to visit the museum is relatively affordable, just under $10 per person!

5. Visit one of Munich's marvelous beer gardens

Beer is an essential part of life in Bavaria. Thus, Munich's beer gardens are a must-visit for any traveler. But from all of the options available to you, what is the best place to visit?

For the most authentic Bavarian experience, head to Hofbräuhaus München, a 16th-century beer hall with a Bavarian restaurant. The Hofbräuhaus has its own brewery on the outskirts of Munich and exports its beers all over the world!

4. Relax at the Olympiapark

The Munchen Olympiapark was constructed for the 1972 Summer Olympics and still hosts different social, religious, and cultural events, including concerts and exhibitions. The park has everything you might need in one place—relaxation, nature, space for exercise, sights, and events.

Speaking of sights, don't forget to visit the Olympic Stadium with its unique tent roof, the Olympic Tower with its spectacular panoramic view of the city, and the Olympic Hall with its impressive size and exterior design.

3. Try Bavarian food at Wirtshaus in der Au

One of the reasons people visit Munich is to experience the well-known and mouth-watering Bavarian dishes, like roast pork and dumplings. Wirtshaus in der Au is a Bavarian restaurant and beer hall established in 1901. What's special about this restaurant in particular? They serve the largest dumplings in Munich, and the restaurant's soothing jazz music will brighten up anyone's day!

2. Stroll around the Marienplatz

Historically, the Marienplatz was the center of social activity in Munich, and the square still serves the same function today. The Marienplatz is filled with shops, cafes, and sights! For a good dose of history, admire the architecture of the Rathaus-Glockenspiel clock tower and take a selfie with the historic Fish's Fountain.

The best view of Marienplatz is from the New City Hall Tower, which has a spectacular view of the Old Town. St. Peter's Church has a viewing platform that is 56 meters high and will grant its visitors an equally remarkable view!

1. Admire the Asam Church

If you appreciate intricate architecture, Munich is the place to be. The city is home to many breathtaking Catholic churches that will leave you speechless. The Asam Church is a perfect example.

The church is small in size, yet it is the most stunning church of them all. From 1733 to 1746, painter Cosmas Damian Asam and sculptor Egid Quirin Asam worked on the building. Its interior features bright, opulent Baroque architecture with large-scale decorations. It's a sight that no traveler should miss.
