You can easily get around to see some of the best sites and cities in a seriously short amount of time.

As I recently spent 4 days in Bonny Ireland, I'd like to share the ideal 4-day itinerary for the best spots to remember when visiting. Dublin, Galway and the Cliffs of Moher, Wicklow National Park, and the adorable town of Glendalough are some of my faves.
Planning Your 4-Day Trip to Ireland
You have to know that there's a lot to see in this small island country! While this itinerary certainly hits many of the hot spots, you may want to tweak it a little to suit your interests.
When planning your trip to Ireland, you should think of seeing a little bit of everything. Maybe explore the many archeological sites, hike, eat, or learn about the rich history in some of the amazing museums.
Now, let's uncover how to spend 4 amazing days in Ireland!
Day 1: Dublin
Not only is Dublin the capital city of Ireland, but it's also one of the most incredible places to visit!
When you schedule your flight to Dublin, I recommend attempting to get an overnight flight or at least one that arrives early in the day so that you can enjoy as much of the city as possible upon arrival.
Here are just a few of my favorite Dublin activities:
- Take the Guinness factory tour
- Check out the St. Patrick's Cathedral
- Walk over the Ha'penny Bridge
- Relax at St. Stephen's Green
- Explore the National Museum of Ireland
- Party at Temple Bar
If you don't have time to fit it all in on day one, don't worry, you'll be heading back to Dublin on the final day of your trip too!
Day 2: Galway
On day 2, it's time to head to the coast. It only takes about 2.5 hours to get from Dublin to Galway. I recommend hitting the road early in the morning to get the most out of the day.
When you arrive in Galway, find accommodations and set down your things. Now, it's time to head out again to the incredible Cliffs of Moher.
Tons of great tour companies offer day trips to the Cliffs. I recommend booking your tour ahead of time to find a time and price that suits your trip. Usually, the tour bus will stop somewhere for lunch, such as the small fishing village of Doolin.
When you return from the Cliffs of Moher, you can spend the evening walking around the beautiful small streets of Galway and popping into a local pub for a whiskey or a Guinness.
One of the best things about Galway is the live music, so be on the lookout for some local artists either busking in the street or playing in a pub.
Day 3: Wicklow and Glendalough
After sleeping in Galway, get ready to head to Wicklow National Park and the lovely town of Glendalough.
There's a lot to see in Wicklow county, so unless you have your car, it's best to go for another day tour option.
Some sites you will want to take advantage of are the National Park, Glendalough monastic site, hiking to Glendalough Upper Lake, and Lake Guinness.
Most often, the tour will end in Dublin. You'll likely be exhausted, so take a good night's sleep before your final day.
Day 4: Return to Dublin
On your last day in Dublin, you can fit in a few more of the sites before your flight out.
So, whatever you didn't see on day 1, it's best to head over now!
How to Get Around Ireland in 4 Days
As you may have noticed, it's absolutely possible to get around Ireland through tour companies and local buses. The buses in Ireland are comfortable, convenient, and affordable. Because it's such a tourist-friendly city, there are plenty of tours running every day around the island.
You should also know that traveling in Ireland by car is a fantastic option!
Renting a car while you're there for 4 days means that you can stop along the way and see a little more than you might on a bus.
But remember, you have to be sure you can confidently drive on the left side of the road.
How Much Does It Cost to Spend 4 Days in Ireland?
Ireland is not the most expensive country in Europe, but it's equally not the most affordable.
You should expect to spend at least $600 on your 4-day voyage in Ireland. That includes food, transport, activities, and accommodation.
Of course, if you're planning a more luxurious trip as opposed to a backpacking adventure, you may spend a little more. As always, it's crucial to set a budget ahead of time, so you come home with a little to spare!
Though you may not have time to do all these in 4 days, you still have a great itinerary to work off of while you plan.
