Greece has always been known as a top-trending honeymoon location. And it’s really not surprising because Greece has it all.
My first thoughts of Greece are the mythical Greek love stories, beautiful islands, and pristine beaches. Plus, if I were on my honeymoon, I would love to wake up to the breathtaking views and maybe even treat myself to one of the luxurious resorts.
It’s time to start planning because all that’s missing is you and your spouse! Today, I’ll share tips and tricks to help you make the most of your Greek honeymoon!
When Is the Best Time to Visit Greece for a Honeymoon?
The best time for a honeymoon in Greece is April to June and September to October. That’s because the weather is mild, and the sea is still warm enough for a dip. It’s also the non-peak season, so you’ll have some privacy.
However, I recommend planning your trip in July and August if you prefer the bustling nightlife and festivals. This is the peak tourist season in Greece.
You should avoid planning your honeymoon in Greece from November to March because it’s winter. Due to extreme temperatures, many activities like hiking and canoeing will be limited.
How Much Does a Honeymoon Cost in Greece?
You should budget between $3000 to $4000 per week for a relaxing Greek honeymoon. That should cover everything apart from your airfare.
However, you can still have an intimate and fun honeymoon for as low as $1000. Depending on your itinerary, expect to pay anywhere between $100 to $450 per day. Hotels can be on the expensive side, but there are plenty of affordable accommodation options in Greece as well.

What’s the Best Way to Get Around in Greece?
A rental car is the best way to get around the Greek mainland. Book buses and trains are the way to go! They’re efficient and can save you lots of time.
If you’re hopping between several Greek islands, a ferry is the most efficient way to travel between islands. But you’ll need to book your tickets in advance.
Destinations and Activities for Honeymooners in Greece
During your honeymoon, you’ll probably want to explore with your lover by your side. Here are some can’t-miss attractions to check out while honeymooning in Greece.
Medieval Monemvasia
Greece is known for its rich history and mythology, and Monemvasia is the perfect place to experience it all. If you love medieval romance and vibes, the castle town is perfect for you.
The stone walls and narrow streets transport you to a fairytale world. Hold hands during the boat tours, taste some wine, and enjoy the mesmerizing sunset of Monemvasia!

Colorful Crete
Crete is one of the largest islands in Greece and a perfect romantic getaway, and its unique cuisine sets it apart. By taking one of Crete’s many cooking classes, you can learn to cook like a real Cretan! Plus, what’s cuter than a cooking class with your new husband or wife?
Beaches with crystal clear water and ancient wineries are the start of what to expect on the island. Here are two unique natural wonders of Crete you must visit during your Greek honeymoon.

Samarian Gorge
The Samarian Gorge is a unique, must-visit area of the country for a Greek hike. Rare flora and fauna can be found throughout the natural wonder that adds to the romantic atmosphere of the hike.

The Pink Elafonisi Beach
Yes, you read that right, it’s pink! What can be more romantic? The mixture of golden sand and the crushed pink shell is what gives it the hue.
When coupled with the turquoise water, it’s a sight to behold. You definitely don’t want to miss out on the colorful sunset at Elafonisi Beach!

Santorini
Your greek honeymoon is incomplete without a trip to Santorini!
This is the perfect honeymoon spot with some fantastic suites and hotels with panoramic caldera views. The white-washed building and narrow streets in the village of Oia are great for an intimate and relaxing stroll.
What truly makes the island unique is the colorful beaches. There are the dark black sand beaches of Perissa and Perivolos, the passionate red sand of Akrotiri, and the pure white sand beach of Vlychada.
Lastly, the cuisine of Santorini is one of the best in the world, so date nights will be a common occurrence here!
With so many things to do in Santorini, you and your new life partner will want to add this to your itinerary.

The Healing Hotsprings of Kos
The mystical island of Kos is famous for its various miraculous hot springs. Hot springs are a natural phenomenon caused by geothermal activity.
Hotspring water is saturated with minerals and has insane healing properties. Start this new chapter of your life by relaxing in the magic waters of Kos!
But that’s not all. The nightlife in Kos is extremely vivid and energetic, which makes it a hot favorite spot among party animals!
