When planning your travels, one of the most important things to map out is the sites you want to visit and the experiences you want to have. This is important for two reasons: most places, venues, or events require early RSVP due to demand or health restrictions. The second is that you'll want to know how much it costs to add that into your budget.
It becomes a hassle if you're a spontaneous traveler to find cool things to do on the go for these two reasons. Do you risk purchasing the tickets at the door or booking it in advance, or do you play it safe and pre-purchase them days ahead?
That's where e-ticket apps like Tiqets come into play.
Having one platform to book all of your reservations and event tickets is convenient and allows you some flexibility in booking tickets on the go. While e-tickets are becoming more common, Tiqets seeks to make all tickets easily accessible on your phone and group them all in one place.
But are they actually as good as they sound? Should you use Tiqets to plan your outings? Keep reading to find out.
What are Tiqets?
Founded in 2014 by four Dutch entrepreneurs, Tiqets aims to "make culture more accessible" by providing customers with a way to quickly and easily purchase digital tickets to cultural attractions around the world.
Its main format is as a mobile app, so travelers can easily access all the attractions and museums available in their target city and purchase tickets on the go. The app is available on the App Store and the Google Play Store.
The best part about the app? It allows you to buy tickets on the go. It also allows you to read reviews from fellow travelers of any given attraction. This amazing feature lets you know how others rate top destinations in your next city!
Using the built-in GPS system, you can also use the app while traveling to explore the different cultural attractions and museums to be spontaneous!

Is Tiqets legit?
As with any digital service, it's always good to check that your receiving service is legit.
Tiqets offers digital tickets to experiences, which are done through partnerships with museums and cultural institutions. You can trust that you receive legit entry tickets to anything you purchase. Of course, you can always double-check the attraction's website to see available options and compare prices.
Tiqets reviews have received an overall average rating of 4.5/5 stars on Trustpilot from over 20,000 reviews, with 80% of reviews rating their experience as "excellent."
The main complaints in Tiqets reviews seem to be a lack of customer service accessibility and occasionally difficulties with tickets, such as names being omitted from QR codes. Sometimes the ticket availability doesn't reflect actual availability if you were to book directly with the museum or attraction.
Are you wondering whether Tiqets will have cultural attractions or museums in your next travel destination?
Tiqets' destination page lays out all the countries and cities where you can use Tiqets' services to purchase digital tickets for events, museums, and more. You'll find that they have options in several countries around the world.
When you click on any given city, you'll be directed to a page with attractions you can book and city tips, which include information about public transport, currency, time zone, and more.
In addition to their digital ticket purchasing app, Tiqets also has a blog highlighting places where they offer attraction tickets. You can read all about city tips and destination ideas, get travel inspiration from their "things to do" posts, and more!
What sets Tiqets apart?
While other services like Cleartrip or Lastminute.com allow you to book attractions or experiences as part of their services, Tiqets exclusively allows you to purchase tickets to specific kinds of attractions.
As their focus, the app only allows you to sort through museums, tours, or other cultural attractions rather than to sort through flight and hotel deals. Everything is also housed in the app, so it's a smooth process from searching, purchasing, and arriving at your destination with your digital ticket in hand!

Customer service is available 24/7 in English, and they're also available in 11 other languages in total during office hours. You can reach out to their customer service team using email by contacting firstname.lastname@example.org, through an online chat function, or via Whatsapp. The two latter options can be accessed through their Help Center.
You'll also find their FAQ page there, so you can glance through those to see if your question is answered there.
Tiqets Refund Policy
Of course, the unexpected can happen when traveling. You may be unable to visit the attraction for which you booked a ticket. Refunds can be an option with Tiqets, but they aren't a given.
To receive a refund, you will have to have purchased the free cancellation add-on when initially purchasing your ticket. Or if you have booked a ticket with refunds available as per venue/attraction rules. If you qualify for either of the two above, you can request a refund through the app or via email if it does.
Is Tiqets worth it?
It would definitely be worth checking out Tiqet's in your next destination to see if they might be able to help you visit your top choices!
Tiqets could be an excellent platform for you to book and reserve tickets in advance if you're looking at local things to do. While refunds aren't always guaranteed and customer service may be hard to reach sometimes, Tiqets is still a great e-ticket app to use!
