The right gear is the key to having a successful outdoor adventure.

As a rookie, I definitely made mistakes in the past and got low-quality gear for my camping and hiking trips. But, with more experience, I've come to recognize quality gear is a life saver!

But isn't all the truly best outdoor clothing ugly as f*ck?! I'm here to introduce you to Rab. This lesser known brand is an outerwear company that claims to do both, meaning you don't need to forego fashion for function!

Rab focuses on offering adventurers and travelers the best clothing experience for their life on the trails. Similar to outdoor clothing brands such as KÜHLNorrøna, and Marmot, Rab highlights premium quality and exacting standards.

But does it deliver on its promise? I've become an expert on Rab so you don't have to do time-consuming digging!

Find out whether Rab is the choice for you and how their collection stands out from the rest.

What Is Rab?

Rab is an outdoor clothing brand known for its rugged, high-quality mountain clothing and equipment.

The company provides outdoor apparel engineered for comfort, protection, and style. Perfect for the harsh outdoors and the most dangerous of weather conditions, Rab's clothing works for anyone serious about hiking, traveling, and mountain climbing.

Rab uses only premium quality materials for their clothing, including European goose and duck down certified to the Responsible Down Standard. Their fabric is made to keep the wearer warm, dry, and comfortable.

Rab also uses fluorocarbon-free water repellency treatment for all their clothing and sleeping bags to reduce water saturation.

Who Is the Owner of Rab?

Rab was founded in 1981 by Scottish climber Rab Carrington in Sheffield, UK. Carrington established the brand after returning from an expedition to Argentina's Patagonia, where he learned how to make sleeping bags. Rab was later acquired by Equip Outdoor Technologies.
