I'll take you through each city, so you know what to do in the after-dark hours. You'll be surprised that Vietnam's nightlife is more than just bars and nightclubs.

If you plan on visiting the country, explore these reviews on VietJet Air and Vietnam Airlines. These might be handy when deciding how to get there. Don't forget to save this example of a 10-day trip in Vietnam for ideas when planning.

Now for the fun part. Where to go for a fun night out in Vietnam.

Is Vietnam Good for Nightlife?

The kind of nightlife you experience in Vietnam depends on where you are. The nightlife is more laid back and quiet in the suburbs and countryside. Expect a peaceful night out in town exploring street foods and authentic experiences. As you would expect, people living in rural areas go to bed early, so you usually won't find people partying until the wee hours of the morning.

If you're looking for a more conventional nightlife experience, you could stay in the urban areas of Vietnam. These destinations offer a bustling nightlife scene, including bars, nightclubs, and disco bars. The partying ends in the early morning hours and the atmosphere is filled with lively chaos. You can expect that when visiting cities like Hanoi, Saigon, Phu Quoc, etc.

You may choose your destination according to your desired nightlife experience. To give you an idea of what to expect, check out our city guide so that you can plan your itinerary according to the nightlife activities.

Hanoi

Hanoi offers many things to do during the day, but the city comes alive at night! It's easy to feel the party vibes when roaming the streets of Hanoi at night. There's a mix of locals and expats looking for fun and entertainment in the many places to go.

Enjoy Local Street Food And Beer At Bia Hoi Junction

After dark, the Bia Hoi Junction is one of Hanoi's most popular local and tourist places. In the Old Quarter, you'll bump into many tourists and expats. Head to Beer Hoi since it is known for its locally brewed beers. If the seat is filled up, don't worry because many other shophouses are nearby, ready to serve your favorite drinks.

The street's shophouses serve affordable beers alongside snacks, such as steamed peanuts and beef jerky. If you want to enjoy a laid-back night in Hanoi, it's an experience you shouldn't miss.

Dance The Night Away At The Toilet Club

Soak in the party vibes when you visit The Toilet Club in Hanoi. The city's most buzzing nightclub boasts three open venues until midnight. The Toilet Club is located on the sixth floor of Hanoi's Capital Building, so it's easy to find.

A group of well-dressed locals and tourists come to this club, where they serve all kinds of drinks. The club plays mostly hip-hop, house, and lounge music! Their drink menu is relatively inexpensive, another reason to visit this club if you want quality entertainment in Hanoi without breaking the bank.

Visit The Iconic Legend Beer

Legend Beer is an iconic third-story bar in Hanoi, which you're probably familiar with since it is one of the most photographed buildings in Downtown Hanoi. Tourists and locals come here to enjoy a few bottles of beer while enjoying the overlooking view of Hoan Kiem Lake and the rest of downtown. It's also an excellent viewpoint to marvel at the buzzing noise of the streets below.

Legend Beer also serves various German-style dishes on top of its extensive beer and drinks menu.

Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh features several districts, each offering different nightlife entertainment. So choose the best nightlife attractions to experience based on your style and preference.

Check Out The Ben Thanh Market

If your idea of a great nightlife in Ho Chi Minh is shopping, you must head to the Ben Thanh Market. Dining and shopping enthusiasts could spend hours roaming the Ben Thanh Market looking for authentic street food from the many stalls available here. Once you've filled up on delicious Vietnamese food, you can explore all the stalls for unique souvenirs and artisan crafts.

The market is located in a pedestrian zone and is open until midnight. So if you're looking for a bargain, start practicing your haggling skills!

Drink Up At Pham Ngu Lao

Think of Pham Ngu Lao as the version of Bangkok's Khao San Road. The legendary district is the go-to option for tourists and locals looking for a buzzing street drinking scene. It is also known as the backpacker hub in Ho Chi Minh. Many nightclubs and restaurants offer affordable beers, drinks, and food.

Saigon Rooftop Bars

If street drinking is not your cup of tea, don't fret because Ho Chi Minh City has its fair share of rooftop bars you can head to!

The city has an impressive collection of rooftop bars, such as the Chill Skybar. It's the perfect spot to sip on your favorite cocktail while soaking up the view of the city. Come here near sunset so you can marvel at the view of the sun disappearing on the horizon.

Hoi An

The ancient riverside town of Hoi An is a famous destination for tourists seeking cultural activities. But it's emerged as a nightlife destination in recent years due to the city's live music venues, trendy bistros, and artistic lounges. Even the streets of Hoi An light up at night, providing tourists and expats with many things to do after dark.

Enjoy Food And Shopping at the Hoi An Night Market

Night markets are on top of the must-do activities in Asia, and it's no different when you're in Hoi An. Over 50 local vendors set up their stalls for the night market, where you can find budget shopping and authentic food. The night market is set up at Nguyen Hoang Street, the heart of town. It's also filled with colorful lanterns, making it a popular photography spot.

Maybe go on a street food tour?

Bar Hopping in Hoi An

On the exterior, Hoi An looks like a sleepy ancient town. But don't let that fool you because Hoi An comes alive at night with many excellent bars and bistros for a more relaxed nightlife experience.

Tam Tam Café is an iconic nightlife destination in Hoi An. Opened in 1996. It features an inspired décor, a drink menu consisting of many imported selections, and a food menu that brings a blend of Vietnamese and European fares. There's also an upstairs lounge area where you can do some people-watching while enjoying your food and drinks.

The White Marble Wine Bar is another excellent nightlife destination in Hoi An. It is a fantastic drinking spot in a refurbished heritage building with views of the Thu Bon River and the bustling streets. It is a premium nightlife destination, which suits those who prefer spending the night in a more relaxed setting.

Other excellent bars in Hoi An are Before and Now Bar, Mango Rooms, and Mango Mango.
